Dear Mom,

Just a few lines to let you know I am well and enjoying a trip on the ocean as much as I could under the circumstances.

I keep out on deck as much as possible and thus keep my appetite in good shape.

So far the weather has been fine and the trip an easy one. I it an experience that I won’t forget.

How is Rose? I hope she is well and that the rest of the gang are well also.

Please write and give me all the news My correct address is as above.

Not much else to tell you at this time So, again regards to all and take good care of yourself. Love Louie

Dear Mom,

Just a few lines to let you know that I am well and that I am still on my way back to my outfit. The way it looks it will be in a about ten days or so before I get there. It is a terrible cold night now and snow is picking up.

How are all of you at home? I hope you are all enjoying good health and have a good supply of fuel as the paper states that a very cold spell is on now.

Not much else to say at this time. I’ll keep writing as often as possible.

Regards to all. Take good care of yourself Love Louie

Dear Mom,

Just a few lines to keep you informed as to what is happening. I am still in the same place [cut out]

I am very glad that I had the opportunity to see you and the rest of the gang and am only sorry that I didn’t get the chance to see the rest of them. I hope it won’t be too long before I do see them and the way things are going it won’t be too long before we all get home and back to a normal existence.

Please keep mailing the excerpt from the Chronicle as it makes good reading also all letters I receive will be answered promptly.

Have Ellie write me about the stores as the way they are going is, of course, of paramount interest to me and I want to know what I will have to contend with when this damn war is over.

Not much else to say at this time my best regards to all of the gang. I’ll write again soon Love Louie

P.S. Use address exactly as on the envelope Louie
